Feijoa is designed to work with all KiwiSaver schemes and connects to your bank via open banking. You choose your round-up amount and which KiwiSaver accounts you link to. You can change the round-up amount, pause or opt-out at any time, with changes implemented immediately.
We work with trusted partners and processes to keep your contributions moving safely from your bank to your KiwiSaver account.
- Feijoa connects to your everyday bank account through New Zealand's open banking framework. Where possible, we use regulated connection methods, so you authorise access directly with your bank.
- We work with accredited requester Akahu to facilitate this connection; you can find more about them here: https://www.akahu.nz/ For banks or account types that are not yet supported by the regulated system, Akahu may use alternative connection methods to enable the service.
- All KiwiSaver contributions are sent through Inland Revenue (IRD) to your existing KiwiSaver account, or to the KiwiSaver accounts of your nominated loved ones.
- We reconcile every transaction to ensure every cent goes where it is meant to.
- We hold funds in a trust account with ANZ, keeping your money seperate and protected while it is being processed, until it reaches your chosen destinations.
- Feijoa is also fully insured, including being covered for cyber risk.
- Feijoa does not hold or manage your KiwiSaver investments. We send your contributions through Inland Revenue (IRD) to your chosen KiwiSaver account, who invest and manage it for you.
We ask for your consent before connecting your accounts and before we make contributions to your KiwiSaver accounts.
- We only use your personal information for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy, including providing and improving the services Feijoa provides to you. We don't sell your personal information. Where we share information with service providers or partners, we do so only as needed to provide our services, where you have authorised us to, or in aggregated or anonymised form.
- Feijoa is built on an Info Security Management System (ISMS) that is ISO27001 aligned, following the principles and control framework of an international standard for information security management.

Security has been part of Feijoa from day one.
- We use modern cloud infrastructure and encrypt all data to keep your information safe.
- We carry out regular security testing, with both the app and the platform independently reviewed for security risk.
- Because we use open banking to connect to your accounts, Feijoa never sees or stores your bank login details.
We are fully compliant with all relevant regulation including financial services, anti-money laundering and privacy requirements. Feijoa is a Registered Financial Service Provider (FSP1010562) and a licensed user of the KiwiSaver trademark from Inland Revenue.
Feijoa is a member of the independent dispute-resolution scheme Financial Services Complaints Ltd (FSCL). If you are unhappy with our final response (or we have not responded within 40 working days) you may refer your complaint to FSCL at no cost.
