Refer a friend bonus terms and conditions

If you refer a friend to Feijoa who completes signing up to Feijoa with your referral code and they remain an active customer for at least one month, we’ll give you AND your friend a bonus contribution to the KiwiSaver accounts you and your friend have configured in the Feijoa App.

Unless otherwise stated in a specific Promotion, the standard 'refer a friend' bonus is $1 for you and $1 for your friend each month you both remain an active member for up to 12 months. This is subject to you and your friend remaining active customers (active means having linked your bank accounts through Feijoa and Feijoa having successfully processed round-up transactions on your and your friends behalf during the previous month). It’s our way of saying thanks. We call this our ‘refer a friend bonus’. These terms and conditions apply to our 'refer a friend' bonus.

To refer a friend, find your unique referral code in the Feijoa App. You can share this code with as many friends as you like and post the code where ever you like.

You’ll be able to see when a friend uses your code in the Feijoa App. Unless your friend consents, you won’t be able to see which of your friends have used your code.

To qualify for the ‘refer a friend’ bonus, you’ll need to:

  • have an account with us;
  • actively use the Feijoa round-up service; and
  • comply with our terms.

Your friend will need to:

  • have never had an account with us;
  • successfully open a new account using the unique code we give you and remain active for at least 30 days; and
  • comply with our terms.

If you and your friend meet the requirements set out in these terms, we will pay the 'refer a friend' bonus to your and your friend as you have configured your round-ups in the Feijoa App after your friend has been an active customer for at least 30 days.

The 'refer a friend' bonus applies once per friend, for example, it doesn’t apply multiple times if your friend opens multiple accounts.

The 'refer a friend' bonus is applied to you and your friend as configured in the Feijoa App and cannot be withdrawn as cash. As it is applied to a KiwiSaver account, any withdrawal will require you or your friend (as relevant) to comply with the withdrawal terms of the relevant KiwiSaver scheme.

If you receive a ‘refer a friend’ bonus or other promotion

The terms in this section apply if you sign up using a ‘refer a friend’ bonus code, or other promotion code (for example if you have been provided a referral code from your financial advisor or otherwise been provided a code).

To be eligible to receive the bonus or promotion amount, you must be an active customer of Feijoa at each point in time when a bonus or promotion amount is paid. Active means having linked your bank accounts through Feijoa and Feijoa having successfully processed round-up transactions on your and your friends behalf during the previous month. If you cease being an active customer, you will no longer be entitled to receive bonus amounts not yet paid.

You may only receive one bonus or promotion amount unless the terms of a promotion explicitly provide otherwise.

All bonus and promotion amounts are applied as configured in the Feijoa App and cannot be withdrawn as cash. As it is applied to a KiwiSaver account, any withdrawal will require you to comply with the withdrawal terms of the relevant KiwiSaver scheme.

Terms applicable to any ‘refer a friend’ bonus or other Feijoa promotion

Other things to be aware of:

  • You agree not to engage in any activity that may be considered fraudulent, invasive or could be considered spam.
  • If we reasonably believe that you are abusing the 'refer a friend' bonus or other promotion or are otherwise in breach of our Terms we can choose not to pay the bonus or promotion.
  • Feijoa reserves the right to refuse to pay the ‘refer a friend’ bonus or other promotion if we suspect misuse of a code, or if you do other such behaviour or attempt to ‘game’ the system. We also have the right to suspend or close your account as set out in our Terms and Conditions.

If for some reason we can’t pay you the ‘refer a friend’ bonus or other promotion amount as planned, we will do our best to pay when we are able, but we aren’t liable to you or anyone else for any delay in payment. We will resolve any dispute or issue to do with the ‘refer a friend’ bonus in the way we consider to be fairest to everyone involved. Our decision will be final.
